How I Display and Organize My Kids' Schoolwork

When my daughter started going to two year old preschool two mornings a week, the stream of artwork began - and I truly love it! My kids love showing off their work, and we make a big production out of taking the work out of their folders and hanging it up at home. It's important to be proud of your work! :)

Anyway, the work started piling up quickly, so I knew we needed some sort of system for displaying it. There is a large wall in our playroom that I thought would be the perfect place for it, so off to Pinterest I went for inspiration. I loved the idea of using curtain rods, so I had my husband put up these IKEA curtain wires. And voila! Our art wall was born! (I use these clips to hang the work from the wires.)

Once my son started two year old preschool, I began switching out the artwork on the wall more frequently. I would just toss the pieces into a storage bin, but as the bin began to fill up, I quickly realized we needed a better system for organizing the pieces I wanted to keep. (Especially since we are still just in the preschool years!) So back to Pinterest I went. There are so many great ideas out there, but in the end, I decided file boxes would work best for us. I also have one large bin for oversized work.

I ordered these file boxes from Amazon and used my Cricut to personal them. The aqua hanging folders are also from Amazon.

I made box one for each of my kids as well as one for seasonal artwork. Since the kids always bring it home toward the end of the season, I want to be able to display it at the beginning of the season the following year. I know they'll love seeing what they created the previous year! I still need to figure out how I want to display the seasonal work. So stay tuned!

xoxo
